Thank you for your interest in hosting your next event at Ernest. We offer Private Dining and full restaurant buyouts. All events hold our ethos at their core — Chef-curated menus featuring Ernest classics and unique, seasonal offerings in a modern, approachable space.
PRIVATE DINING
Our Private Dining Room is available for parties up to 14 guests seated at a single long table. The room offers total privacy and can accommodate personalized music. We offer two standard seatings a night at 5/5:30 or 8/8:30. The room can be reserved for the entire evening for an increased food & beverage minimum and room fee.
Private Dinners feature a unique Chef-crafted family-style tasting menu starting at $125 per person. Our market-driven menu changes nightly, featuring the best seasonal produce, intense global flavors, and nostalgic nods across three savory courses and a dessert course.

BUYOUTS
For larger parties and events, we offer fully seated or standing receptions using our entire restaurant space — bar, lounge, dining room, and garden patio. Buyouts can host up to 62 seated guests or a standing reception up to 120 guests.
Buyout events can be crafted as a sit down family style tasting menu or a selection of passed dishes more appropriate for a standing reception format.

POLICIES & NEED TO KNOW INFORMATION
Event Confirmation and Payment
An agreed upon, signed contract and credit card are required for all event bookings. Credit card information submitted for the deposit is not retained by Ernest. The submitted credit card or another form of payment must be physically available for payment of the balance due on the day of your event.
Event Cancellation & Guest Counts
The following charges will be assessed for cancellations:
Cancellation within 1 week (7 days) of the event date will result in a charge of 50% of the food and beverage minimum applied to the card provided.
Cancellation within 3 days of event will result in a charge of 100% of the food and beverage minimum applied to the card provided.
A final guaranteed guest count is required seven business days prior to the event date.
A guest count change of more than 15%, based on the original guest count is required at least one week prior to the event date.
If a final guest count is not provided seven business days prior to the event, the original guest count, as reflected on the event agreement, will become the guaranteed guest count, for which the client will be charged.
If the client increases the final guaranteed guest count within seven business days of the event, there will be a charge of $150 for each additional guest.
Event Fees & Taxes
A food & beverage minimum, local sales tax of 8.625%, 7% taxable SF Mandates, 5% coordination fee, and a taxable service charge will apply to all bookings — 25% for buyouts, 20% for non buyouts. Should your total food and beverage fall below the quoted event price, the difference will be posted to your bill. Food & Beverage minimums are required for the use of the room/table and does not imply a cost estimate. Any rental needs will be charged above and beyond the food and beverage minimum.
Menu Modifications
Our events offer a chef-driven menu that will be presented the day of the event. All menus are seasonal and change based on Chef's discretion.
For all events, we require all dietary information to be provided at least 72 hours prior to the booking date or at the time of the booking if it is within 72 hours. We make every effort to accommodate client requests, but be advised that some items/ingredients are subject to seasonal availability.
